Joyce Tenneson's Great Danes features 20 portraits by American photographer Joyce Tenneson taken in October 1990. Featuring Danes from all walks of life, the series was commissioned by the U.S. State Department.
These large scale photographs were taken on the very unqiue Polaroid 20x24 camera. One set was gifted to Frederiksborg Castle and one set came to the United States. The Museum of Danish America is lucky enough to have a third set of these photographs, which include many of the same sitters, but are still entirely unique to the other two sets.
This exhibit marks the first display of these one-of-a-kind, unique photographs since their creation.
The photographs will be on display until May 29, 2023.
